Who we are
We are a caring boutique dojo which upholds a family atmosphere, respect and decency. We teach classical Wing Chun from the lineage of:
Ip Man (Grandmaster of the style) – Lo Man Kam (his nephew) – Sifu Mike Felder – Sifu Marcin Pytel
„Without Chi Sao there is no Wing Chun“
– Sifu Mike Felder
Our philosophy
At the heart of our Wing Chun is Chi Sao (sticking hands): reflex and sensitivity training which should enable us to show a reflex-based response in unexpected close combat situations. If you find yourself in such a situation, it’s not your thinking but your reflexes that should kick in.
Wing Chun also leaves its mark on the mind. You will feel more composed and relaxed when dealing with pressure, aggression and provocation. In everyday life, this means: mindfulness, intuition and focus.
Our family tree
We pride ourselves on teaching you Wing Chun from the direct lineage of Ip Man. Ip Man, the 'Grandmaster' of the Wing Chun style, began teaching in Hong Kong around 1950. One of Ip Man's students was Bruce Lee. In fact, it was at Ip Man’s school that Bruce Lee's had his first encounter with martial arts. Ip Man's nephew, Lo Man Kam, made classical Wing Chun known beyond the borders of China and founded his own school in Taiwan. It was there, almost 30 years ago, that Mike Felder from Zurich learned Wing Chun and was encouraged by Lo Man Kam to pass on and teach the mastery of the art. He opened a school in Zurich and ran it for over 30 years as one of the few sifus in Switzerland who practise kung-fu as a full-time occupation and actively teach it on a daily basis. At the end of 2023, Mike handed over the school to his long-time student Marcin Pytel. Since then, Marcin has been running it under the name 'Wing Chun Kuen'.
